Hong Kong – October 22, 2009: Sanrio Digital announced today details of the virtual birthday party of the year: Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary, hosted by Hello Kitty Online! Hello Kitty turns 35 on November 1, 2009. From now through November 1, birthday celebrations and special events are being held in Hello Kitty Online (www.hellokittyonline.com), the official online game of Hello Kitty.
Hello Kitty Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) featuring Sanrio’s lovable characters, including Badtz-Maru, My Melody, Dear Daniel, Keroppi, Pochacco, and many others. To celebrate Hello Kitty’s birthday, from now through November 1, 2009, players in Hello Kitty Online will enjoy a range of special anniversary content and features, including new games, quests, items, contests, and prizes as well as appearances by Hello Kitty.
From now through to November 1, players in Hello Kitty Online earn birthday tokens by playing new games and mini-games and completing birthday quests. Tokens earned can be exchanged for limited edition Hello Kitty birthday items in the game. On November 1, players who have at least four limited edition birthday items will gain entry to a lavish party held in London. Players who did not collect at least four birthday items by November 1 will still be able to join birthday celebrations for Hello Kitty in Florapolis and Paris.
