| The Ryzom Ring Alpha Tests begins
Nevrax has announced the start of the Alpha test of Ryzom Ring the new tool kit for the game wich users will use to create their own contents. Here you have the press release:
Nevrax Paris, the developer and publisher of the massively-multiplayer science fantasy game, The Saga of Ryzom, announced today it had launched the first of its extension pack alpha-tests for the ground-breaking RYZOM RING. The initial tests will occur online and will involve long-time Ryzom players, as well as Nevrax staff.
The RYZOM RING expansion offers players of The Saga of Ryzom a complete set of simple and supple tools to design and implement adventures and maps, empowering them to imagine, create, launch, share and enjoy an almost infinite combination of online scenarios.
It's the first time that a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game has offered its players such a large scale creation and editing platform.
From alpha-test to launching
Beginning with about 50 players, new players will be continually added to the testing team until early 2006, when the Ring will enter it's bêta phase and will welcome all of The Saga of Ryzom's paying customers into the testing phase. Also in Q1 2006, there will be further open bêta and load testing before the Ring's official launch by the end of the 1st quarter.
In the meantime, a new website is currently being created at URL www.ryzom-ring.com, which will inform all players and testers of the status of the Ring Test, and which will also soon contain new communication and monitoring tools for all the testers and our future "creators".
"Ryzom Ring is an extremely powerful extension pack," says Daniel MILLER, CTO and Executive Producer of the Ring. "The opportunity is finally given to the players to become not only players, but creators." Miller added, "Ryzom's future is from now on in the hands of players."
