2004 has been a good and bad year at same time. A bad year where MMOGs like Earth&Beyond or Warhammer Online have been cancelled, and a good year where great MMOGs have been released like Lineage 2, City of Heroes, Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft. But it seems that 2005 will be even a better year due to great MMOGs expected.

Although it was released on November 2004, Everquest 2 will be fully functional on 2005. Sony Online and Verant have learnt a lot from Everquest errors. Everquest 2 has a very powerfull graphical engine, which needs good hardware, and a gaming system really elaborated. Team play has been boosted and using instances avoids people camping. at some game zones. Also crafters and merchants have been boosted, so they have more importance. There's also bad things about Everquest 2: you cannot have PvP not even dueling, and hardware requirements are very high.

World of Warcraft has also been released at the end of 2004, but when it will be released on 2005 at Europe, and battlegrounds will be released worldwide also in 2005. Blizzard Entertainment has published its first MMOG, easy to play at, so many players can be attracted to. Leveling up characters will be very comfortable and quests respect Warcraft atmosphere. Factions are also important and players will have to choose which one will they join.
